Dormer House
The eco-friendly 3,335 square foot house is designed for empty nesters wanting to downsize and is sustainable, energy efficient and low maintenance. Like other smaller prototypes, operable windows and orientation maximize cross ventilation and day lighting and minimize use of conventional heating and cooling systems. Doors with screened “shoji-like” moveable panels open to a private courtyard with an optional lap pool and connect indoor and outdoor spaces at first floor living, kitchen, and dining areas. Large dormers on the second level bedrooms bring light into upstairs bedrooms, and provide views to the courtyard below. |
